Our goal for our instruction is to teach Carlos basic English to help him interact with others as well as become familiar with his new environment on his first day of preschool.
Designing Instruction for Carlos Goes to School
Taking Carlos, our learner, into consideration when designing our instruction, we will consider what our goals for Carlos are. Knowing what we want Carlos to learn and accomplish from instruction will help us design the instruction to best fit him. Our book focuses mainly on the interpersonal domain of learning because we want Carlos to learn to interact with others to help him learn English. Working as a team, we bring together many different backgrounds, experiences, theoretical approaches, and thoughts. Below are PowerPoints created by each team member on their view of instruction. We will bring all of our individual approaches together to create effective instruction for Carlos. This PowerPoint was created by Mandy Burdette. It explains how to organize instruction for our book, Carlos Goes to School, using the Universal Design for Learning approach.
